Overview

This was a solo mobile game project I created in Unity in 2016 as a way to practice game design, development, and shipping a complete product.

The game was designed around a simple, family friendly visual style and short, approachable play sessions that could easily be paused and resumed. It was released on both iOS and Android and was available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

After launch, I eventually discontinued the project. Maintaining a live mobile game over several years wasn’t something I wanted to pursue long term, but the project was a valuable learning experience in taking a game from concept through development, release, and post-launch support.

Gameplay

The game is a single-player stacking challenge built around a simple goal: create the tallest tower possible.

Players continuously receive different monster-shaped blocks and must carefully place them on top of one another while keeping the structure balanced. As the tower grows, the challenge becomes increasingly about judging weight, positioning, and stability without causing the stack to collapse.

A score counter tracks the player’s progress, encouraging repeated attempts to beat their previous best. Every 20 seconds, the player also earns the ability to freeze a block in place, adding a small strategic layer and giving them a way to recover from difficult situations.

Progression & Cosmetics

At the end of each run, players earn coins based on their performance.

These coins can be spent on cosmetic skins that change the appearance of the monster blocks. The system was designed to give players a light sense of progression between attempts without affecting the core gameplay or introducing competitive advantages.

The cosmetics provided an additional reason to keep playing, while also allowing players to personalize the visual style of their tower.
